The DEX5550 is a UHD (4K) high-definition media player with two outputs. This player offers powerful performance with low power consumption thanks to the mobile processor. The player has no fan and is solid-state, thin (only 25mm) and designed for a long life cycle and high performance of the product. The DEX5550 is the perfect solution for digital applications and has no problems operating in demanding, moving, greasy or dusty environments.
Playback of UHD (4k) content
This media player can drive UHD (4k) content. With a resolution of 3840x2160 pixels, your content will be almost perfect. This feature characterizes the players who can deliver smooth content without jerking and in UHD (4k).
Intel Core-i platform
The DEX5550 and DE5550 are both based on the Intel Core platform. More specifically, on the 6th generation platform technology. These players are available as i3, i5 and i7 and therefore in different SKUs.
Compact design
The compact design allows for easy integration into kiosks or behind screens. The standard AOPEN compactness is a standard used for Digital Engine (DE) models. The size of our Digital Engine series is set to a maximum of 166x48x177 mm. Do the math and it becomes clear that a Digital Engine is a sustainable investment, even after replacing the item in an already existing kiosk or stand.
Integrated HEVC / H.265 10bit codec
These devices support proprietary hardware decoding for modern codecs, such as the HEVC / H265 10 bit. When unloading the CPU, the GPU takes care of decoding the video. This ensures smooth playback of up to 60 fps.
