Specifications
The XEED WUX500 offers enhanced flexibility and presentation control by allowing multiple users to input images, video and audio wirelessly; either directly or via a router. The XEED WUX500 also features PC-less functionality, meaning that presentations can be made directly from a USB to a single projector. Using edge-blending technology and a unique edge-blending four corner keystone adjustment, seamless images can be created using up to nine projectors in 14 different pattern options simply connected with LAN cables.
With its constant brightness across the entire zoom range, remarkable energy efficiency, improved connectivity, easy installation, exceptional durability and easy maintenance, the XEED WUX500 is an ideal solution for a range of environments including engineering and design, simulation and control rooms, conference centres and boardrooms, museums and visitor attractions and higher education.
The XEED WUX500 includes LCOS technology enabling smooth, seamless images and achieving 5000 colour lumens, whilst providing the high durability required by the installation market. The native resolution is WUXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels), meaning text is easier to read and graphics appear smoother.
The XEED WUX500 boasts a projection lens that has a constant aperture across the entire zoom range. Whilst competitor products may suffer some brightness degradation at the telephoto end of the zoom, the XEED WUX500 will maintain constant brightness and an aperture of F2.8 regardless of zoom position. This means that the brightness at the telephoto end of the zoom range will be almost the same as at the wide end.
Additionally, the XEED WUX500 supports HDBaseT, a new standard for connectivity and transmitting HD media, audio and control signals over long distances via a single LAN cable. The LAN cable can span up to 100 metres, which greatly improves convenience in system configuration.
“The Canon XEED WUX500 was designed to meet increasing market demand for an easy to install, Wi-Fi connected compact installation projector that offers exceptional image quality,” says Andreas Herrnböck, European Business Development Manager Projector, Visual Communications, Canon Europe. “Conference centres, boardrooms and reception areas, for example, require a bright, clear image, capable of cutting through high levels of ambient light. The addition of Wi-Fi connectivity to this new model also creates new opportunities for education, meeting collaboration and information sharing with projections that achieve clear, detailed images, with good contrast and vivid colours. In addition, the PC-less edge blending function provides a cost effective solution for bright multiscreen projections, especially for use within museums and visitor attractions.”
The XEED WUX500 features LCOS technology with Canon’s unique AISYS (Aspectual Illumination System) optical system to deliver a powerful blend of brightness and contrast. The LCOS panel technology uses liquid crystals resulting in exceptionally fast and distortion free images without any unwelcome ‘rainbow’, ‘lattice’ or ‘grid’ effects found on traditional LCD and DLP projectors. In addition, the AISYS system helps to achieve the maximum performance out of a modestly powered light source.
With an overall power consumption of just 365W, the XEED WUX500 offers high efficiency with best-in-class performance in terms of watts per lumen. The product also has a dedicated ‘ECO’ button on the remote control which is used to quickly gain access to the lamp mode and power management settings. Not only does the XEED WUX500 offer low power consumption, it also boasts a long lamp life (when used in Eco mode). With up to 5,000 hours before replacement is required, the XEED WUX500 is supported by Canon’s 3 Year Lamp Warranty, which effectively eliminates the cost of replacement lamps for a three year period from new, and 3 Year Enhanced Warranty Loan Service offering customers next day loans while their projector is serviced. This substantially lowers the running cost of the projector.
